Mainline provides Glenair with flexible access to mains power

System can be retro-fitted, stand-alone or integrated into skirting boards

Mainline Power UK, part of the Steljes Group, has installed its track-based power distribution solution within the ultra-clean production facility of Glenair, a UK manufacturer of interconnect products and systems for the military and aerospace industries.

It was critical for Glenair that mains power within its new manufacturing area in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, was provided without dust-harbouring conventional sockets and trailing leads. The firm also stipulated that disruptions had to be minimised when production priorities changed and the room had to be reconfigured and additional power points created.

The tools, equipment and machines that require mains power within Glenair’s clean manufacturing area include soldering irons, bench magnifiers, extraction units, potting equipment, ATE test equipment and PCs.

Suitable for use in new builds and refurbished developments, Mainline’s track-based power distribution system can also be installed as a retro fit in rooms where additional power outlets are required. The system can be stand-alone or integrated into skirting boards, chair rails and along work surfaces.

As well as manufacturing and test environments, the system is suitable for use in laboratories and workshops.

The Mainline power track comes in standard lengths of 2.2m, which can easily be cut to size on-site for shorter length requirements, or joined together for longer spans. The maximum current capability is 32A and up to 16 adaptors can be fitted onto a single metre of track.

The Mainline track conforms to BS EN 61534-1, BS EN 61534-21 and BS EN 60999-1. The outlet adaptor conforms to: BS 1363-2: 1995+A1, A2 and BS 5733: 1995+A1, A2, and is rated to 13A.
