Pink integrates dryer-isolator and centrifuge

The isolator works in the negative pressure region and incorporates Hepa filters on the air inlet and outlet sides. Ergonomically arranged gloves allow safe handling of the product on the front side. In the centrifuge area, the isolator is also operable from the back.

On the inside there is a CIP device and spray guns for thorough cleaning to avoid any cross-contamination after a change of products. The transfer of the product from the reactor to the centrifuge is through a flexible hose connection or an RTP port.

Pink has developed the system with Swiss company Ferrum, which has provided its VTC 500/350 scraper centrifuge. The maximum rotation speed is 2,200l/min, and a special decoupler prevents vibrations from being transferred to the isolator’s housing. The drum can be filled with minimal vibrations through a filling tube and the top outer housing opened for inspecting the standalone centrifuge basket.

After removal from the centrifuge, the product can be placed directly onto trays, which are then safely inserted into the vacuum drying oven.

The interior of Pink’s VSD drying oven is designed as if made from one piece, with no joints, sharp edges or hidden faces. The dyer’s top, bottom and heated shelves are all double-walled and connected to the sidewalls without joints.

The design provides a homogeneous temperature distribution during the drying process and because the walls are also heated, there is no risk of condensation.

The drying oven has special doors, rotatable 180 degrees for easy cleaning, that enable the operator to work comfortably within the isolator. A flange-mounted Hepa filter prevents contamination of the vacuum and filter disposal can be performed from within the isolator. www.pink.de
