Sartorius system offers improved contaminants detection

Sartorius’ X-ray inspection device range takes contaminant inspection to a higher level with features it claims makes detection simpler.

The DYXIM series enables users to check packed and unpacked products for the presence of various contaminants such as glass, metal, rock, bones or other particles within production processes and to eliminate contaminated products reliably.

The DYXIM S series is one of three models available and features an X-ray sensor for simple detection tasks.

At the heart of the DYXIM D series is two X-ray sensors with a resolution of 0.4 – 0.8 mm, which are mounted at an angle of 90° to one another. The double scanner system detects contaminants located directly below the lid or on the walls of a container just as easily as thin fragments of glass inside a glass container. Thanks to the stainless steel housing and the IP65 protection, the DYXIM series is easy to clean.

The DYXIM FB series, a conveyor system, can automatically check products such as snacks, salads, cereals and dried foods in bags as well as pharmaceutical products, and detect and eliminate contaminants such as metal, glass, rocks, bone, ceramic and certain plastics (PVC). The device can also be used to detect missing or broken products and/or changes in shape, volume or weight. In addition to checking common types of packing, it is also easy to check metallicised bags, metal cans, bag-in-box packing and jars.
